UFC Fight Night Vegas 4 features two fairly heavy favorites in the main and co-main events in Dustin “Diamond” Poirier and “Platinum” Mike Perry. Veterans of the octagon, both have more experience than their opponents. Coming off of losses, Poirier and Perry are looking to bounce back by stopping the push of rising stars Dan “The Hangman” Hooker and Mickey Gall.
Stylistically, these match-ups couldn’t be any different. The co-main event features the classic striker vs. wrestler matchup. Perry vs. Gall will be decided by whether or not Mickey Gall can drag Mike Perry to the mat. If not, Perry will likely score one of the highlight knockouts he is known for in the UFC. However, if Gall can get him to the mat, he has a significant advantage over the fighter who has yet to attempt a submission in the UFC through 12 bouts. The main event features two fighters with extremely similar styles. Each prefers to be on their feet, both recording plenty of highlight knockouts over their UFC careers, however, neither of the two are slouches on the mat, with both fighters having 7 submission victories respectively. With so many ways it could end, you wouldn’t think this fight could go the distance, but with how similarly skilled each fighter is, this could be a five round FOTY candidate.
Both of these contests could go either way, which is not conveyed in the betting odds. Dan Hooker is a +180 underdog and Mickey Gall is a large +270 underdog. Each of these contests will be much closer than the line says, and you only have to hit one of the two to make profit. Anything can happen when the cage door closes, bet the dogs.
